Powernail Flooring Nailers are available in different options. Our website reflects the most common configuration, but each nail can be configured to your liking.
Our standard Powernail package comes with a White Mallet, whether it be a 3MI for Pneumatic Nailers, or a 5MI fom Manual Nailers. The White Capped Mallet is non-marking, which is helpful when you are nailing near walls or cabinets. You can get a Black Capped Mallet for the same price if you desire. The Black caps are a little harder. For an additional charge, you can get a Dual Cap Mallet.
Handle Lengths are the next option. Large Handles, which are 11 inches long, bring the total height of the nailer from the floor to the top of the handle to 19 inches. Small Handles, which are 6 1/2 inches, and X-Large Handles, which are 14 inches, are also available. See the following chart for the total heights:
| Description | Small | Large (Standard) | X-Large |
|---|---|---|---|
| Handle Height | 6 1/2″ | 11″ | 14″ |
| Total Nailer Height | 12 1/2″ | 19″ | 21 1/2″ |
The final option is the nail channel length. The standard channel on all the flooring nailers hold 100 flooring cleats. There is an optional Large Channel for the Powernail 445 Nailers that holds 200 total flooring cleats. However, be warned that what you make up for in nail capacity, you loose in how close you can get to the wall. The longer channel sticks out about 6 inches more than the standard channel, which will make you loose the ability to nail at least 3 rows of 2 1/4 inch strip hardwood flooring at the wall. This optional longer channel would be best suited for commercial and gym flooring installers, where you have larger areas to install versus the average home.
Speaking of large flooring installations, the longer handle on the Powernail 445 with Power Roller, and the Powernail Flex with Power Roller, really decreases fatigue and helps you work faster and install more flooring!
